This
is my proposed variation on bikerboy's Labor Day Ride. Ride from
Vallejo and meet me, and a few other riders, at the Starbucks in
Mountain View. From there we can take Hwy 9 through the SC mountains,
coming out at River St. In Santa Cruz. After lunch at the wharf, head
up Hwy 1 to Pescadero. Climb back up the mountain to Skyline Blvd. and
stop at the store across from Alice's Restaurant. There should be a
wide assortment of bikes to look at. From there head back down to Hwy 1
and proceed North to your final destinations. Here are a few maps and
pics that should clarify what I was trying to say.

This is what I'm proposing. A much more interesting ride than just Hwy 17 then up Hwy 1.
I'm not sure how you are coming South, but this won't be very far out of the way from any one of the major freeways.
If you leave Vallejo around 09:00 and pick up people along the way, you should be here between 10:30 and 11:00.
