This ride is about 85 miles in length and traverses the East Bay Hills back roads. Except for a few miles, it's hard to imagine that you are in a major metropolitan area. We will travel through many of the East Bay's recreation and watershed areas. The ride starts in Milpitas and ends in the funky little town of Port Costa.
We will meet at a
small Strip Mall at the corner of East
Calavaris Blvd and South Park
Victoria. There is a Donut Shop in the back corner. Let's
meet here at 09:30. Gas is
available across the street (Shell
or Union 76).
I won't list all the
ride details (too numerous). We head East into the hills and emerge
into civilization again in Castro
Valley. After a few miles driving through town, we are back in
the rolling East Bay Hills. We eventually end up in Port Costa. We'll stop here for
lunch at the Warehouse Cafe.
This is a very popular weekend biker destination, as the Cafe offers a Sunday Barbecue and Buffet. The
Barbecue is between $6.00 - $10.00 and the Buffet free with the
purchase of a drink.
