Honda - Big Basin Redwoods - Corralitos - Mt. Madonna
The San Francisco Bay
Area is blessed with many scenic riding areas. One of my favorites is
in my backyard. The Santa Cruz Mountains has hundreds of miles of one
and two lane mountain roads. The terrain varies from open grasslands to
heavily forested peaks and canyons. A variety of trees make up these
forests. Oaks, Madrone, Fir, Pine, and Manzanita to name a few. The
Crown Jewel has to be the mighty Coastal Redwood. Most of the old
growth trees were logged at the turn of the 20th century. There are a
few pockets of old growth trees left and vast stands of maturing
secondary trees. There is nothing like the cool relief of a Redwood
forest on a hot summer day.
