Napa
Valley "No Whining" Wine Country Ride
10/09/05

We will meet 09:30 in Vallejo at a Carl's Junior parking lot, across
from Six Flags Marine World Amusement
Park. Gas is available here.

From
here we head north to the Napa Valley.
We'll bypass the town of Napa
and drive through Yountville.
It is very touristy, but quaint. Heading north, we will zigzag up
the valley using the scenic crossroads. After driving the main drag of Calistoga, we will stop for lunch at
the Home Plate Cafe. Alexander Valley is our next
destination. We turn south on Chalk
Hill Rd and head toward Santa
Rosa. We'll skirt the city through some up-scale hillside
housing developments. Hwy 12 in the Sonoma
Valley takes us to Trinity Rd.
We head up into the hills and re-emerge in the Carneros region. The last stop
will be the beautiful "Champagne" cellars of Domaine Carneros. The grounds and
buildings are lovely. Those so inclined should try some of their
Sparkling Wine. We'll say our goodbyes here and toast to the new
friends made and another excellent riding season .
