I
have wanted a convenient 12volt power outlet on my Volusia for awhile
now. I hooked up a battery tap to use while camping, but the left
side cover had to be removed every time I wanted to use it. Recently I
ran across a company that produces and sells motorcycle power outlets.
Powerlet I bought one and installed it in less than half an hour.
This is all that I needed.

Installed on right side cover.
Battery tap wires are fed to right side cover area. I have replaced the yellow wiring with
a wire harness that includes a 10 AMP in-line fuse.
With right side cover on.
Cigarette lighter adapter plugged in.
Electric heated riding clothes can also be plugged in the outlet.
This is all that I needed.
